Topic: Bronchodilators

Bronchodilators are a type of medication that make breathing easier by relaxing the muscles in the lungs and widening the airways (bronchi).

 Classification of drugs:

1. Sympathomimetics:

a) Selective β2 agonists: Salbutamol, Terbutaline

b) Non- selective β agonists: Isoprenaline

c) Non- selective adrenergic agonists: Adrenaline, Ephedrine

2. Methylxanthine derivatives: Aminophylline, Theophylline

3. Anti cholinergics: Atropine, Ipratropium, Tiotropium
